Why Content Matters
Posting on LinkedIn positions you as a knowledgeable professional rather than just another salesperson. When prospects see valuable content from you in their feed, they are already warming up to you before you ever reach out directly.
Story Based Posts
Share a client success story (with permission). Describe the challenge they faced, what you helped them implement, and the results. Real stories are more compelling than generic advice.
Talk about a deal you lost and what you learned from it. Vulnerability and honesty perform well on LinkedIn because they stand out from the usual polished corporate content.
Practical Tips
Share a specific sales tip that worked for you this week. Keep it actionable and concrete. "This week I tried [approach] and it resulted in [outcome]" gives readers something they can immediately test themselves.
Post about tools, apps, or processes that help you stay productive. Other agents and salespeople will find this genuinely useful.
Industry Observations
Comment on trends you are seeing in your market. What are buyers asking about? What challenges keep coming up? These observations position you as someone who has their finger on the pulse.
Share interesting statistics or research findings relevant to your industry. Add your own perspective rather than just reposting.
Opinion Posts
Take a stance on a common industry debate. "Unpopular opinion: cold calling works better than ever" sparks engagement and shows that you think independently.
Challenge conventional wisdom when you have personal experience that contradicts it.
Question Posts
Ask your network a genuine question. "What is the biggest challenge you are facing with [topic] right now?" These posts generate comments and reveal what your audience cares about.
Behind the Scenes
Show what a day in your life as an independent agent actually looks like. The reality of independent sales is interesting to people who have never done it.
Engagement Tips
Post consistently, ideally two to three times per week. Respond to every comment on your posts. Engage with other people's content daily. The algorithm rewards activity and conversation.
Keep posts under 200 words for the best engagement. Use line breaks to make them easy to scan on mobile. And always write in your natural voice rather than trying to sound like a corporate LinkedIn influencer.
