Your listing is a sales pitch to salespeople
When you post a listing for commission only agents, you are selling your opportunity to some of the most sales savvy people in the market. They evaluate your listing the same way they evaluate any sales pitch: quickly, critically, and with a focus on what is in it for them.
A vague or uninspiring listing gets scrolled past. A specific, honest, compelling listing attracts the agents you actually want.
What to include
Clear earning potential
This is the first thing agents look for. Be specific about what they can earn. "Our top agents earn $8,000 to $15,000 per month in commissions" is far more compelling than "competitive commission rates."
If you cannot share exact numbers, provide ranges or examples. "Our average deal size is $5,000 with a 15% commission, and our best agents close 8 to 12 deals per month."
Product description
What are they selling? Describe your product in terms of the problem it solves and the value it delivers. Agents need to quickly assess whether they can sell this product to their network.
Target market
Who are the customers? Industry, company size, geography, and buyer persona. Agents evaluate whether they have access to this market and whether they can be successful in it.
Commission structure
Outline your commission rates, tiers, and bonuses. Include payment frequency and any clawback provisions. Transparency about compensation attracts serious agents and filters out time wasters.
Support provided
What do you provide to help agents succeed? Training, materials, leads, tools, ongoing coaching? The more support you offer, the more attractive your opportunity becomes.
What makes you different
Why should an agent choose your opportunity over competing options? Better product? Higher commissions? Better support? Faster payments? Highlight your genuine advantages.
What to avoid
Vague promises
"Unlimited earning potential" and "sky is the limit" are meaningless to experienced agents. They have heard these phrases from every company that underpays.
Excessive requirements
Listing 15 qualifications for a commission only role is counterproductive. Focus on the three or four things that actually matter: relevant industry experience, proven sales track record, strong communication skills, and self motivation.
Corporate jargon
Write like a human, not a corporate communications department. "Join our dynamic, synergy driven sales ecosystem" makes agents close the tab.
Hiding the commission only nature
Do not bury the fact that it is commission only. Lead with it. Agents who are looking for commission only opportunities want to know immediately that this is the right type of role.
Listing platforms
Post your listing where commission only agents are actively looking. Zepys is purpose built for connecting businesses with commission only agents. LinkedIn is effective for targeted outreach. Industry specific job boards reach agents with relevant expertise.
Testing and iterating
If your listing is not generating quality applicants, test different approaches. Change the headline, adjust the earning potential description, or highlight different benefits. Treat your agent listing like any other piece of marketing and optimise based on results.
